Minister Diana Morant visits I2SysBio

On 8 May, the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant, visited the facilities of the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology I2SysBio and learned first-hand about the concerns of this joint centre between the CSIC and the University of Valencia.

The minister, accompanied by the I2SysBio management team, was given explanations about the operation of some of the centre's unique infrastructures, such as the computing cluster and the biosafety rooms for virus and bacteria cultures.

Diana Morant and her ministerial team showed a keen interest in the institute's growth since its creation in 2016, its degree of internationalisation and the challenges posed by the current lack of space for attracting and retaining talent.

During the visit, Minister Morant had the opportunity to talk to several researchers at I2SysBio, asking them about their views on the main problems and possible solutions in the field of science policy.
