Our team studies the genomic diversity and evolution of pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2 to try to understand the role of genetic determinants in virulence.

Project

The project aims to find the molecular mechanisms associated with the differences in pathogenicity in different combinations of strains ofM. tuberculosisand different hosts.

The approach includes experimental infections with M. tuberculosis in different host cells, and computational analysis of omics data derived from said infections and in vitro cultures of the bacteria

Candidate

Recent doctorate in microbiology, infection biology, bacterial evolution or related field.
