Emerging science is a project in which younger research staff present, in accessible language and through short videos, their own research and experiences. Emerging Science is a project of the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i) of the University of Valencia (UV), with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECyT) and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU).

The Emerging Science project has begun by giving a voice to the youngest research staff of the Institute of Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio), a joint center of the UV and the CSIC. This institute is a recently created research center where different research groups from the UV and the CSIC have been incorporated that come from various disciplines: genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, computer science, artificial intelligence, theoretical physics, virology, plant biology and biotechnology, among others. Therefore, interdisciplinarity is a central element of its conception as a research institute. Furthermore, I2SysBio has a clear vocation for social dissemination of the research it carries out. For this reason, twenty people from I2SysBio have participated in this first phase of the Emerging Science project, including doctoral students from the various current programs (FPU, FPI and Industrial Doctorates of the MICIU, Generalitat Valenciana, UV, etc.), post-doctoral researchers and principal researchers of the Ramón y Cajal program of the MICIU and the Grants for Scientific Excellence program for Junior Researchers (SEJI) of the Generalitat Valenciana.
