Celebration of the 70th anniversary of the publication in 'Science' of Professor Stanley L. Miller's experiment on the origin of life

Professor Stanley L. Miller (1930-2007), one of the most recognized scientists in the study of the origin of life, published on May 15, 70 years ago, in 1953, his famous article in the magazine Science, in which he published the first synthesis of organic compounds in conditions similar to those of the atmosphere of the primitive Earth.
The University of In 2003, València, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, organized an academic tribute to Professor Miller in the Botanical Garden, in recognition of his work as the initiator of prebiotic chemistry, a scientific approach to the study of the origin of life to which Miller dedicated his entire life. Additionally, the first Peregrí Casanova Memorial lecture was given by Stanley Miller. Casanova was a professor at the University of Valencia between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century and one of the defenders of Charles Darwin's theories. He joined the tribute organized by students at the academic institution to the English naturalist in 1909.
Miller published in Science his first prebiotic simulation experiments, inspired by the ideas of Aleksandr I. Oparin and directed by Nobel Prize winner in chemistry Harold C. Urey.
