The Springer publishing house has published in English the book Illuminating human evolution. One hundred and fifty years after Darwin, published in 2021 by Publicacions de la Universitat de València-Unitat de Cultura Cientifica on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the work The origin of man by the English naturalist Charles Darwin. Juli Peretó, professor of Biochemistry at the Universitat de València, and Jaume Bertranpetit, professor of Biology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, are the editors of the work Illuminating Human Evolution: 150 Years after Darwin.

This book, published in Spanish within the collection “Sin Fronteras” (Publicacions-UCC+i of the Universitat de València) brings together the contributions of more than twenty specialists with different views and perspectives on evolution – including Janet Bowne, Darwin's official biographer – who provide different current views and perspectives on human evolution from psychology, archaeology, linguistics, sexual selection or ethology. According to Juli Peretó, “a very complete overview of the diversity of approaches from which we currently study the evolution of humanity has been achieved.” The book will be available from October 8.

The Spanish translation of the book was prepared from the articles originally published in volume 71 of the magazine Treballs of the Catalan Biology Society. The book belongs to Springer's "Evolutionary Studies" series directed by Professor Naruya Saitou (National Institute of Genetics, Japan).
