The State Research Agency approves six projects for I2SysBio

The State Research Agency (AEI), dependent on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has published the final approval of six research projects that, with effect from January 1, 2019, will be developed by I2SysBio groups. These projects represent a total budget of 674,100 euros co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The I2SysBio will execute, during the triennium 2019-2021 and within the framework of the State Plan for scientific and technical research and innovation, four "Knowledge Generation" R&D projects of the State Program for Knowledge Generation and Strengthening Scientific and Technological R&D system, as well as two R&D&I projects "Research Challenges" of the State R&D&I Program aimed at the Challenges of society. In the “Knowledge Generation” chapter, the approved projects include those directed by Rosario Gil and Amparo Latorre (Evolutionary Genetics Group), by David Martínez (Evolutionary Genetics Group), by Guillermo Rodrigo (Biosystems Design Group) and by Tomás Matus (Transcriptional Metabolism Orchestration Group). The projects within "Research Challenges" are those directed by Mireia Coscollà (Bacterial Pathogenesis Group) and by Juli Peretó and Manuel Porcar (Biotechnology and Biology Group Synthetic).
