Researchers from the University of Valencia Kristie Tanner, from the Institute of Biology Integrativa de Sistemes (I2SysBio) and Olga Mayoral, from the Department of Didactics of Experimental and Social Sciences, carried out hui dimecres 18 and other 19 dues communications in collaboration with the Reial Col·legi Complutense of Harvard University. The conferences will be broadcast in 'webinar' format (an online seminar format), which allows you to both attend in person and follow them through streaming on the official RCC channel. hui from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. In the next presentation, you will analyze the possibilities of offering solar panels with a source of carotenoids, some natural pigments widely used by industries such as cosmetics, food and pharmacology. The use of these pigments is unfortunate, the sources for obtaining them are not very efficient in terms of costs. This is the reason why Tanner proposes a study of the microbial elements that inhabit the solar panels and that favor the appearance of pigment-producing microorganisms.

In exchange, Mayoral will hold the second exhibition from 9:30 to 10:30 hours. This webinar titled Challenges in science teachers training will explore the possibilities offered by educational experiences to fresh air in science. According to the researcher, camp work is common in countries like biology or botany, activities outside the classroom are not popular in other disciplines. Per açò, Mayoral proposes changes in the preparation of professors of scientific disciplines in order to favor these types of approaches. In addition, Ana Maria Caballero, a specialist in early childhood education with more than 25 years of experience, will also participate.

Also, Kristie Tanner is a collaborator of the RCC and a visiting student at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University. On the other hand, Olga Mayoral is a Visiting Researcher at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and a member of the Department of Didactics of Experimental and Social Sciences at the University of Valencia.
